Question 1

What is chrono-distortion as a superpower?

Accepted Answer

Chrono-distortion is the power to distort time in any form: stop it, slow it down, speed it up, or redo an event, or create a space where time moves faster or slower than outside it. Fan catalogs also call it Temporal Distortion or Time Dilation, and file it as a sub-power of Space-Time Distortion. It bends the tempo of the present moment rather than traveling to another date.

Question 2

How is chrono-distortion different from time travel?

Accepted Answer

Time travel moves the traveler to another date (the past or the future), while chrono-distortion stays in the present and changes how fast time runs there. Travel is the calendar; distortion is the dial. A time traveler revisits yesterday, while a chrono-distorter makes this second last an hour.

Question 3

How is chrono-distortion different from time stopping?

Accepted Answer

Time stopping is one of the four moves of chrono-distortion: the freeze. Full chrono-distortion also includes slowing time for others, speeding time up, replaying events through loops and rewinds, and projecting distorted zones. Stopping is the pause button; distortion is the whole remote control.

Question 4

How is chrono-distortion different from time manipulation?

Accepted Answer

Time manipulation is the umbrella category covering every time power (time travel, time stopping, age control, erasure), while chrono-distortion is one branch under it: the bend-the-tempo branch. A time manipulator might do anything with time; a chrono-distorter specifically distorts its flow.

Question 5

Can a chrono-distorter bend time over a whole planet?

Accepted Answer

Usually not: distortion fields are often spherical with a limited range, so anyone outside the bubble keeps their own tempo. Planetary scale would be the extreme high end of the power. Hard counters also exist: users of Temporal Lock are unaffected, users of Spatial-Temporal Lock are immune, and a distorter can even fall victim to their own field.

Question 6

Who are famous chrono-distorters in fiction?

Accepted Answer

Famous users include Baraggan Louisenbairn (Bleach), whose Senescencia dilates time to age his opponent; Hit (Dragon Ball Super), whose Time-Skip freezes opponents for a fraction of a second; Dialga (Pokémon), whose Roar of Time distorts time itself; Raziel (Legacy of Kain), whose Soul Reaver distortions can rewrite history; and Wyoming and Meta (Red vs Blue), who fight over the Time Distortion Unit.
